QUALITY AND COST

QUALITY

It seems we read about health care quality in the media every day. But what exactly does it mean?  A consumer website from the federal government, www.consumer.gov,  defines health care quality as:

Doing the right thing, at the right time, in the right way, for the right person - and having the best possible results.

ChiroCare strives to ensure quality of care for the patients of our providers. That is accomplished both in how we choose our providers and how we support them. We set various levels of standards that we expect our providers to achieve and sustain---and nearly 80% of our providers have achieved the highest levels for all standards.

COST

Your health insurance plan reimburses providers who treat you based on what is called in the industry "market competitive rates". Typically, health plans monitor local market and national reimbursement trends, as they try to assess the appropriateness and efficiency of the care provided. In most instances, patients have plans that also require them to make a co-pay.

As a patient, you can check with your health insurance plan about your chiropractic benefits and ask providers about their costs.

For additional resources on health care quality, check with your own health plan or visit the Federal Government's Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality at: www.ahcpr.gov.
